Bloxorz: Test your spatial logic! Roll the block into the hole across 33 challenging levels. Master precision switches and avoid fragile orange tiles in this classic puzzle game.

How to Play Bloxorz

Bloxorz is a three-dimensional block-rolling challenge that fundamentally tests a player's spatial awareness and long-term planning. Unlike simple block-stacking games, this title requires visualizing how a long object moves through space, using minimal and deliberate input.

The Core Challenge

The singular objective is to drop your rectangular block into the designated square hole on the platform. The challenge is amplified by the strict restriction: you must not let the block, in any orientation, fall off the edges of the map. Failure to secure the block on the platform requires you to restart the current stage. There are 33 increasingly complex stages to conquer.
Basic Mechanics: The Roll

Your entire interaction with the puzzle is done using the Arrow Keys. Each key press initiates a "roll" motion, shifting the block to cover new squares. You must constantly calculate the block's orientation: is it occupying one square (standing tall) or two squares (lying flat)? This calculation is the basis of every successful move.

Mastering the Elements: Interactive Tiles

As the levels advance, the platforms introduce specialized tiles that are essential to solving the puzzle:

  • Weight-Activated Pads (Soft Switches): These switches, marked by a simple circular shape, require the block to merely make contact to activate. Whether the block is lying flat or standing tall, its weight is sufficient to trigger the mechanism.
  • Precision Switches (Hard Switches): These switches, shaped like an 'X', demand a higher degree of precision. To activate an 'X' switch, the block must stand upright, resting its entire weight on the single square the switch occupies. Rolling over an 'X' switch horizontally will not activate it.
  • Fissile Flooring (Orange Tiles): These sections of the floor are highly unstable. You can safely roll across these orange tiles horizontally, but under no circumstances can the block be rolled to a position where it stands vertically on them. Doing so will cause the fragile floor to collapse, resulting in a loss.
  • Teleport & Division Pad: A unique tile that instantly transports your block to a new location. More significantly, it splits the single block into two smaller, single-square blocks. From this point, you must control the two smaller blocks, navigating them independently to solve the remainder of the level.

Managing Dual Control

When the main block is split, the smaller, individual blocks can only activate the Soft Switches (Circles). They are too light to activate the Hard Switches (X-shaped) or Teleport pads. Successfully guiding the smaller pieces requires finding a way to re-combine them later in the level, which is necessary to regain the full size and weight needed to finish the level.
Utilizing Level Codes

For convenience, a unique passcode is generated for every level you successfully complete. If you leave the game, you can enter this code to jump back into the exact stage you reached, eliminating the need to replay previous puzzles.
